Day 4 meant leaving the piece and quiet of Fraser Station to travel on to Norseman to find an IGA and a Servo as the only things open but Kalgoolie was even quieter, very disappointing as we thought Kalgoolie would be bustling so onward we went. After a hot day and stopping to cool the engine down several times we arrived in Menzies. We were contemplating stay here but when driving down the main street to find a closed service station with 24hr credit card petrol and the local pub come grocery store the only place open. We went in for a beer and a coffee and chatted for sometime with the barman as we were the only people there! It was a good stop learn about the town and after driven away we realised it is almost a ghost town. Later in the day we arrived at Leonora and the Caravan Park was unattended but there was a sign saying pick a spot and pay in the morning. I picked a good site just up from this regular with his site dressed up as a hotel with a bar a boat advertising fishing charters and there was junk everywhere. It looked cool.
