We left Eucla at 830am to travel 10 minutes to the Old Eucla Telegraph station. The ruins are almost covered in sand and we strolled along the sand tracks for a bit before backing the kombi on some sand tracks to pose a photo of the kombi in the sand although it probably would have managed quite well as the sand was fairly compacted. Just out of Mundrabilla we came across the first of a couple of water sheds stopping for a quick visit.

Near the Madura Pass Roadhouse Bev was driving and almost ran over a "moving stick" but looking back it was still moving across the road. After a few hours down the road and passing Cocklebiddy we decided to stop for lunch. I put on the 12volt kettle for a cuppa and Darren tried to start the kombi. Dashlights on but completely quiet no starter motor. Darren knew that the battery wasn't flat as I'd only just plugged the kettle in. After a bit of distress and checking bits and pieces Darren unplugged the kettle and vroom started straight away. Obviously the kettle drew so much power that the starter wouldn't kick at all.
Onward we made our way to the 146.6 Km straight which seems to take forever but this time even though the Kombi is slow it didn't seem all that bad. Finally we reached this oasis called Fraser Station a few km up from Balladonia Roadhouse where we camped in this fantastic caravan park on a semi retired sheep station. Great surroundings and just a great place to rest after a long day.
