The Preamble as The Adventure Begins, Adelaide to..........

Preamble
Thursday morning on the 1st of March @ 8Am I said to Darren why don't we leave now. So madly packed the last few bits and pieces said goodbye to Georgina and sent her off to school and by 1130 we were on they way.

To fill you all in we were going to leave on the Friday but as per usual I couldn't wait. The Kombi was ready we only needed to pack up the last remaining  bits and pieces.

The Kombi
"Boris" the kombi is a 1974 Sopru conversion 1800 Auto. He is in very good original condition and Darren won't change very much from his original condition as he wants to leave him as classic as possible. The set up, we added a portable 30L Waeco fridge freezer, water containers in the bottom of the wardrobe and shelves and baskets in place of the hanging space. Other changes were a jerry can holder fixed to the roof rack and a 40 channel UHF radio with the aerial also fitted to the roof rack. Mechanical changes were the fitting of electronic ignition and a 105AMP Thumper portable battery for power.

The Trip

The plan is to go from Adelaide across the Nullabour to Kalgoolie through the Goldfields to Geraldton along the North West Coast Highway around the Western Australian coast through to Darwin in The Northern Territory down the Stuart Highway via Ayer's Rock to Adelaide South Australia.

So thats the background of the trip lets see how it goes and what changes will happen.....
